Chinese researchers accomplish 6G ultra-high-speed connectivity 2023
The first real-time wireless transmission of 6G technology by Chinese researchers enabled ultra-high-speed communication.
The China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation Second Institute research team used terahertz orbital angular momentum communication technology, according to the media source. 6G mobile transmission is 10-20 times faster than 5G.
Terahertz is an electromagnetic spectrum frequency range between 100 GHz and 10 THz, according to the South China Morning Post. A 110 GHz antenna generated four beam patterns for the experiment.

Those patterns enabled real-time wireless transmission at 100 gigabits per second on a 10 GHz bandwidth, enhancing bandwidth efficiency.
“In the future, this technology can also be applied to short-range broadband transmission fields, supporting high-speed communication between lunar and Mars landers, spacecraft, and within spacecraft themselves,” the paper added.
Terahertz communication can send more data faster due to its higher frequency. It is promising for 6G connectivity, high-speed internet, and secure communications in difficult military contexts.
